Services

The company helps clients with all aspects of evaluation through process and outcome assessment, measurement, performance and quality improvement, consultation methods, survey development, focus groups, qualitative interviewing, and information (data) collection, analysis and dissemination.

Achievements & Partners

Assessed the impact of non-medical supports and services (e.g. transportation, house cleaning) for seniors across BC through the BC Better at Home Program, an innovative initiative led by the United Way of the Lower Mainland and the BC Ministry of Health to support aging in place among seniors.

Created an evaluation framework and led a province-wide evaluation of 33 Divisions of Family Practice in BC which examined the structure and impact of the Divisions model on physicians, health authorities, community partners, and provincial-level stakeholders.

Assessed the impact of a pilot program which implemented strategies aimed at better “attaching” patients to doctors as part of the “A GP for Me” initiative; this further informed the development of an evaluation framework for ongoing provincial assessment of this program.

Improved access for patients living with musculoskeletal conditions to appropriate medications by evaluating an Alberta-based program aimed at facilitating direct patient referral from physiotherapists to pharmacists for select medications.

Examined the process to redesign undergraduate medical education in Canada involving 17 Faculties/Schools of Medicine across the country, as part of the Future of Medical Education in Canada Project.

Assessed and improved early childhood dental and vision programs through the design and implementation of an evaluation framework that engaged broad interests from health professionals and health authorities across British Columbia.

Evaluated health promotion, health protection and disease prevention initiatives undertaken by the Provincial Health Services Authority in British Columbia, which lead to recommendations for program improvement and enhanced health promotion and population health planning.

Developed a comprehensive evaluation framework to assess the Interprofessional Network of British Columbia involving health care providers, academic interests, and health authority leaders and resulting in province-wide improvements to patient-centred care, interprofessional education, and collaborative practice.

Worked to optimize the Full Service Family Practice Incentive Program through the development and application of a province-wide physician survey which examined program use, access, barriers, and level of satisfaction among general practice physicians in British Columbia.

Evaluated province-wide primary health care and chronic disease management initiatives through the design and implementation of a broad mix of assessment tools, based on the internationally applied “Expanded Chronic Care Model.”

Assessed the impact of community-based cancer prevention programs and their impact on public awareness, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours within various communities in British Columbia.

Examined the effectiveness of strategies to promote the appropriate use of prescription medication through a public education program, “PrescriptionWise,” which involved participation from physicians, pharmacists and patients.

Improved the experiences of patients living with congestive heart failure through i) reviewing best practices in heart failure management, ii) conducting a survey to capture the patient’s journey through the health care system, and iii) evaluating the Congestive Heart Failure Collaborative to document improved physician practice and community services.

Contributed to ongoing improvement of British Columbia’s largest smoking cessation program through a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the British Columbia Smokers’ Helpline over a four-year period.

Increased the effectiveness of a national Hepatitis program by designing and conducting an evaluation leading to practical recommendations for improved services for people living with this disease.
